off island adventures: may day tulip hunting

Tulips at Roozengaarde in Mount Vernon, WA.
On May Day my friend & colleague Mayra and I decided to escape to the main land.  During our summer season at the Spa Mayra and I have non-corresponding days off so this was our last chance to go off island together and to see the end of the Tulip Festival. There was not much left for us to see but our hunting turned from fruitless rainy day excursion to color filled splash fest when we found Roozengaarde where there was 90+ varieties of tulips in their exquisite gardens! We had the best time despite the heavens that opened up on us as soon as we got there, a little rain never hurt anyone.

Hopeful May Day Raindrops skirt and flops. It was sunny when we left the island.
Followin' the route!
Found Daffodils! Where are the tulips?!
Jackpot! Hello lovelies!
Don't mind if we do...
Mayra tiptoeing in the mud.
Tulips everywhere.
So many different types.

The sun came out for the end of our tulip hunt!
Merry May to everyone, I hope it is filled with friends and adventures!
