| Friday Harbor Ferry Landing. |
The ferry is our life line off & on the island. There are some people that grumble about it but I love it!
When leaving the island I love getting into line an hour early and going to get coffee and a pastry for the ride. We are lucky in Friday Harbor that the town is centered around the ferry landing. The other islands have there town centers separate from the ferry landings which can make the wait boring if you don't plan ahead. Even on these islands I make sure I've got a tasty treat for my trip from a favorite cafe or shop. Having a partner in crime is always good for passing time otherwise a book, Angry Birds or some knitting works too. If you have never been on a Washington State ferry, I highly recommend it being added to your list of life adventures.

| The last ferry back to San Juan is usually quiet. |
The trip from Anacortes (mainland) to Friday Harbor is about an hour. On ferry activities are many. There is usually a few community puzzles going, ferry walkers doing laps, reading, knitting, there is wifi for business peeps, you can go out on the decks to get your hair in the breeze, sleep, meet new people, the fun is endless!
