I know I am not the only one who loves pizza. There is something about having your meal in one convenient slice, am I wrong?! Any who, on the island there are a few favorite eats that are hard to come by. Good pizza being one. There is one creator of fabu pizza on the island, San Juan Bakery. One problem though the hours. I seem to only be able to catch them at the farmers market on Saturday or on a day off. I was able to sneak into town for lunch on Thursday to appease my pizza craving while picking up books from the library (I'm finally now reading the Hunger Games). I love pizza for dinner so I guess I need to start planning ahead since they close by 6 on mon-fri.

Artichoke hearts & fresh basil, sooooo yummy! |
My next closest pizza fix is on the mainland in Anacortes (although technically Anacortes is on Fidalgo Island but they have a bridge that connects them to the mainland not an hour ferry ride, they are sensitive to being called mainland, sorry!). My last OIA (off island adventure) I made Mayra go to my favorite pizza spot, Village Pizza. They give me my good ol' fashioned peperoni pizza fix with a twist of bacon on it! It is worth the wait each time.
A beacon of pizza salvation! |
